I ask the same thing at an alarming consitency. The index page should've given a good enough summary, but I'll restate it here; this webcomic is about a surgeon who's employed at this highly unusual hospital, where he then has to put up with what is perhaps the most traumatizing experience of his life, with major antics from the patients and bizarre anomalies within the hospital itself.
Personally, I say it's 16+. No heavily adult themes, but definitely NOT something little Timmy should be seeing on his spyphone.
I designed and wrote this site with bothminimalism and old web practices in mind. All the bloat is unnecessary, so I just trimmed it off. No fancy layouts, no excessive embeds, no PHP, and definitely no JavaScript. As a plus, the site's more readable, both to old / limited web browsers and to the eyes.
It depends on how you're contacting me. I don't read Neocities comments or other messaging methods that site providers have. If you want to contact me, it's best to send me an email at doughnutsblitz@disroot.org.
RSS feeds are basically news feeds embedded as an XML file. To view and keep track on RSS feeds like the LUDICRITAL one, I recommend using Newsboat for GNU/Linux and *nix users, and QuiteRSS for Windows users. Check your feeds occasionally to keep up to date with new events or updates!
I don't see my interest straight-up dying for LUDICRITAL, but if the comic doesn't do well, what about the story? LUDICRITAL as a WHOLE is in the public domain, as mentioned before, meaning that if you don't like the webcomic, you may fancy the story, or the characters, or the world it takes place in, or perhaps the very idea of it as a whole.
With this in mind, if you want to make fanart, an AU, a retelling of the story, an adaptation, whatever, go ahead. I'll be happy to see it!
That's for you to decide.
There are two methods for that; you can either check the source repository as it contains the .png files in the website directory, or (if you're on a *nix system) run wget -r -nd -A png on this page.
I've had 2 inspirations when I made this:
Not for too long, knowing the limits of a solo project. LUDICRITAL is to be in 2 acts, each about 80-100 pages long.
Initially I used HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but then I refactored the site to where it's put together by only plain HTML and a BASH script that generates static pages for the comic viewer.
Nope.
Yes, actually. I removed the clarification because it leaves it up to the reader's imagination to imagine what material is present, which may be more frightening, and it also lessens the woke-ness of the disclaimer. I'm not listing out traumas here, I'm making a damn story.
Yes. Embed it however you want. Be sure to link to one of the places that LUDICRITAL is hosted at:
I know it does, I wouldn't call myself a good artist. Actually, this webcomic is part of me trying to improve at drawing.
For an operating system, I am ashamed to admit I began development of LUDICRITAL on Window$ 10. However, somewhere in 2023 I switched to using Linux Mint, then to Devuan GNU/Linux in 2024, then to Trisquel GNU/Linux in 2025. Software used is as follows:
Ah, a fellow secret hunter! Try hovering over certain parts of paragraphs for flavor text. If you're lazy, you may also check the source repository and find them that way. While the comic pages won't have flavor text, you may still be able to find some funny things within.
This page, along with all other content on this site, is released under the Creative Commons Zero license and waiver, and put into the public domain wherever applicable with an all-permissive license otherwise.
